One of the major threats to our community or the population at large is antibiotic resistance. This occurs when bacteria develop the ability to suppress the drugs intended to kill it.

According to the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), most antibiotics were prescribed for no good cause. Educating the general public on the effective use of antibiotics and the unintended consequences of overuse would go a long way to keep the general public healthy and also preserve the effectiveness of using such medications in the future.

Antibiotics are meant to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as Strep, UTI, Pneumonia, STD, and some life-threatening infections like Sepsis. Antibiotics are not effective in the treatment of viral infections like the common cold, Flu, Bronchitis, running nose.
